Regional Cyber Security Workshop Series

The Office of the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security is launching the Regional Cyber Workshop Series targeted at engaging local government IT and cyber experts. The purpose of the Workshops is to build a relationship and facilitate information sharing between state and local governments, identify opportunities to bolster state and local cyber security, and to promote cross-disciplinary partnerships between IT, emergency management, and law enforcement. Working with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management Regional Support Staff, Workshops will be hosted in each region and available for The series will run from July 11 to August 28.

Who Should Attend?

The focus of this engagement is local IT & IT security staff however, we encourage attendance of all local government officials interested in cyber security including:

  • Local Managers & Administrators
  • Law Enforcement
  • Emergency Managers

  • Region I – July 19, New Kent
  • Region II – July 11, Culpeper
  • Region III – August 30, Charlottesville
  • Region IV – August 21, Abingdon
  • Region V – August 28, Chesapeake
  • Region VI – August 22, Roanoke
  • Region VII – August 14, Fairfax
