Virginia Fusion Center – Cyber Intelligence Unit

Established October 2016, the Cyber Intelligence Unit (CIU) was created to address an identified need to better understand the cyber risk posed to the Commonwealth of Virginia and its constituents. The CIU is housed within the Virginia Fusion Center which operates as a focal point within the Commonwealth of Virginia for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of timely threat intelligence between the federal government and state, local, and private sector partners.

Mission

The Cyber Intelligence Unit strives to bolster the cyber security posture of the Commonwealth of Virginia through the application of intelligence and operational support of partner agencies and stakeholders.
